		<description>There really is a difference between being able to do anything you want and the wisdom of doing it. I can jump off a bridge, but that doesn&#039;t mean it&#039;s the best of ideas. Wisdom is being able to sort out the &quot;can&quot;s from &quot;should&quot;s. Same thing here. Replace Phonon? Absolutely feasible. Alter it? Completely doable. But one has to ask what the current path means for 3rd parties who are using Phonon already, what it says about Qt&#039;s ability to select and commit to APIs (both for Phonon and QtMultimedia) and whether it is even necessary in the first place to make such a departure. I&#039;m glad Free software allows people to do what they want, but I also hope our technology partners make wise choices in the process of doing so.
